We are Bradenton's Local Pet Healthcare Center

We are highly skilled at providing care for pets when they are sick, but we also recognize the importance of keeping pets healthy and preventing illness.  We have a hybrid practice that allows us to emphasize a broad spectrum of care for both well and sick pets.

Companion Veterinary and Urgent Care Center is the only veterinary hospital in Bradenton/Sarasota that provides urgent and wellness care, which allows us to provide a “whole pet” approach to your furry family member’s health.

Our modern, clean facility allows us to provide the highest quality care for your pet; ranging from vaccines, wellness lab testing, basic outpatient treatment of wounds, infections, and illnesses to inpatient intensive care/medical management with continuous monitoring as well as emergency lifesaving surgery.

Our Urgent Care Services means not having to wait for the next available appointment when an Emergency Injury or Illness Occurs

It can be very frightening when your pet is ill or injured.  There are times when urgent care makes all the difference, and it is important to know who you can quickly turn to in the event of an emergency.

While we encourage you to see your family veterinarian if possible, there are times when your vet may not be available or may not be able to see your pet immediately.

We offer walk-in services for sick pets during all of our open hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

12pm - 10pm

even on Holidays.

The transformation from Veterinary Emergency Center to Companion Veterinary & Urgent Care Center

New name - same commitment to excellent care

A visit to the emergency hospital can sound very intimidating, and sometimes raises concerns for large costs and lengthy treatment regimes.  Our new name and look more accurately represent what our hospital is about – a place where you can bring your pet when they need emergency treatment or urgent care, as well as a veterinary “home” for those who do not already have a family veterinarian and need wellness care.

You may have known us by our former name, Veterinary Emergency Center – while our name and look may have slightly changed, rest assured that we are still able to provide the same services, including anything from emergency surgery and critical care to treatment of simple aches and pains.  During our time as Veterinary Emergency Center, we prided ourselves on a commitment to the highest quality care for your furry family members, in both times of emergency and in maintaining wellness and health.

Emergency Vehicles

Our pricing is more reasonable than many of the large specialty/emergency clinics, yet we are still fully equipped and staffed with experienced emergency-trained veterinarians and technicians who can provide the highest level of care; making those times when an emergency visit is needed much less of a financial burden.  Our facility is fully equipped with the most modern equipment that allows emergency diagnostics and treatment to be provided at any time it is needed.  We still work closely with family veterinarians in the area to provide emergency care for patients after their normal hours, or when scheduling does not permit them to be seen in a timely manner.
